The U.S. Department of Energy, in partnership with local utilities, hosts regional Smart Grid Peer-to-Peer workshops throughout the country. The purpose of the meetings is to bring together utility personnel and electricity sector stakeholders to discuss and exchange information on experiences, best practices, and lessons learned related to smart grid deployments. The meeting discussions focus on consumer engagement strategies and technical implementation of smart grid technologies. To date, meetings have been hosted in the Northeast, Southeast, Northwest and Southwest. Meetings are also being scheduled for the mid-Atlantic, Great Lakes and Midwest regions. The key insights that have emerged at each regional meeting are highlighted in this presentation.
