In a year-long effort, the Department of Energy convened utilities from across the United States to talk about how utilities are using their AMI networks and data to optimize their systems and provide a better customer experience. Many utilities have moved far beyond their original business case of reducing meter reading costs and are now using the data to gain insights into their systems and operations that were not possible before AMI.
