The U.S. Department of State participates in the Federal Smart Grid Task Force. The U.S. Department of State is the lead federal agency responsible for U.S. foreign affairs. The Department of State helps shape a freer, more secure, and more prosperous world through formulating, representing, and implementing the president’s foreign policy.
The Department of State’s Federal Smart Grid Task Force member is Grif Thompson.
The Department of State also participates in the Major Economies Forum on Energy and Climate along with 16 other member nations. This group has developed a technology action plan for worldwide smart grid development to encourage a low-carbon economy.
