Company Overview
Pacific Northwest Generating Cooperative, located in Portland, Oregon, will receive $19.6 million in funding to develop a smarter energy grid. The U.S. Department of Energy selected Pacific Northwest Generating Cooperative as one of 100 companies to receive federal stimulus funds as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. The stimulus funds will be used to implement a smart grid system, including more than 95,000 smart meters, substation equipment, and load management devices, that will integrate 15 electric cooperatives across 4 states using a central data collection software system hosted by the Pacific Northwest Generating Cooperative.
